Kristin C. Cummings

Kristin's practice is devoted to representing clients in a wide range of insurance-related issues in both first party and third party disputes.  She counsels and represents clients in litigation matters in state and federal courts across the country and has significant experience in the areas of commercial property, energy, builder's risk, general liability, errors and omissions, professional liability, workers compensation and construction defects.

Kristin serves as the hiring partner for the Dallas office.

Currently representing market of builder's risk insurers in $20 million coverage dispute arising out of electrical failure at a data storage facility.

Represented market of property insurers in $500 million coverage dispute arising out of a fire at a chemical production facility.

Represented market of property insurers in $450 million coverage dispute arising out of a labor strike at a gold and copper mine.

Represented multiple commercial property insurance carriers in $373 million business interruption claim arising from damage to chemical manufacturing facilities caused by Hurricane Ike.

Represented multiple property insurers in coverage dispute involving $81 million claim arising out of a fire at a petrochemical refinery.

Represented market of property insurers in $4.5 million coverage dispute arising out of damage to a turbine at a propane dehydrogenation plant.

Represented builder's risk insurer in coverage dispute arising out of corrosion at a water treatment facility.

Provided coverage opinions and advice for commercial property insurers in coverage disputes arising out of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Ike.

Provided defense to contractors in construction defect cases. 

Litigated and resolved numerous claims involving hail damage to commercial properties.  

Provided coverage advice to professional malpractice insurer in multi-million dollar claim.

Litigated and resolved dispute between workers compensation carrier and insured hospital.
