Roger D. Branigin
Mr. Branigin’s litigation practice encompasses property, business interruption, and builder’s risk insurance, construction, and suretyship, with a special emphasis on complex insurance coverage, loss measurement and valuation issues. He has litigated and tried cases in numerous state and federal jurisdictions. Mr. Branigin was a lead attorney in the World Trade Center property insurance litigation and accompanying appraisal. Among other notable cases, Mr. Branigin represented two major sureties in complex litigation arising out of defaults and cost overruns incurred during the construction of deep-water offshore oil rigs in Brazil, obtained a jury verdict in favor of a major metropolitan airport authority for the full amount it sought in a products liability case, successfully defended a major professional design firm in a series of construction-related wrongful death actions that resulted in a finding of no liability for the client, and obtained summary judgment on behalf of a corporate officer in a case of first impression involving personal liability for unpaid state franchise and sales taxes.
