Judith Bevis Langevin to Present at 2017 Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute

May 23, 2017

Judith Bevis Langevin, a partner in the Minneapolis office of Zelle, will co-present at The 2017 Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute, taking place at May 22-23, 2017 at St. Paul RiverCentre.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 23, Langevin will co-present on the topic “How New Technology Creates New Employment Law Risks – and How You Need to Manage Both.” During this one-hour session, Langevin and co-presenter Kate Bischoff will discuss how smart phones, social media, video surveillance, remote work and social recruiting are no longer news in the workplace. Brainwave monitors, RFID tags, implantable location trackers, and DNA-enhanced fitness trackers are available and becoming more common. As technology is created and adopted by employers, it provides opportunity for innovation and improvement, but it exposes employers to significant new legal risks. Their session will provide specific tips on how to manage and mitigate those risks, as well as the questions you should be asking your HR professionals and technology vendors.

The Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute is widely considered the “go-to” educational and networking event for employment attorneys and human resource professionals. For more information or to register, visit the Institute’s website.
