Zelle Hofmann, At-Risk Youth Win in 2012 Champions of Diversity Challenge

May 16, 2012

10 prominent law firms joined a competitive campaign in recent weeks to support hundreds of local high schoolers that are working to change their lives. The firms came together to support the Bay Area Urban Debate League (BAUDL), a debate mentoring program that serves 12 Bay Area high schools. Together the firms raised more than $88,000, far exceeding the original goal set for the First Annual Champions of Diversity Challenge.  Winning the campaign and claiming the title of Gold Champion was Zelle Hofmann Voelbel & Mason LLP, which raised nearly $600 per attorney.

“The firms who have joined this campaign understand that debate, and youth programs like BAUDL, provide pathways for professional success that these students might otherwise never have had the ability to follow,” said attorney Demetrius Lambrinos, who led the push at Zelle Hofmann and also served as Chair of the overall campaign.
