Zelle Hofmann Named Co-Lead Counsel in Aftermarket Filters Antitrust Litigation
October 29, 2008Judge Robert W. Gettleman of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois appointed Zelle Hofmann Voelbel & Mason LLP as co-lead class counsel representing indirect purchaser plaintiffs in the multi-district In re: Aftermarket Filters Antitrust Litigation.
"We are pleased that, in appointing Zelle Hofmann as co-lead counsel for indirect purchasers, the court recognized the quality of our antitrust practice," said Richard Hagstrom, Zelle Hofmann senior partner and a lead attorney in this litigation.
The litigation arises from the alleged collective fixing of prices for replacement motor vehicle oil, air, fuel, transmission, and similar filters. The defendants are the primary manufacturers of aftermarket filters in the United States. As a result of the alleged wrongful conduct, the plaintiffs were injured by virtue of their paying more for filters than they otherwise would have paid.
