Ron H, Burnovski
Ron’s practice focuses on first-party commercial property coverage evaluation, insurance litigation and bad faith defense, and commercial litigation.
Before joining Zelle, Ron spent fifteen years with Jones Turner in Irvine, California. Prior to Jones Turner, Ron spent five years with Robins Kaplan in its Los Angeles office. Prior to Robins Kaplan, Ron was with the firm of Brown, Raysman, Millstein Felder & Steiner where his work focused on representation of corporate and individual clients in business litigation matters, commercial contract disputes, real estate transactions, and prosecution of claims for RICO violations.
Ron began his legal career at the firm of Lewis, D'Amato, Brisbois & Bisgaard, LLP, where his practice primarily involved insurance bad faith defense, auto product, and premises liability litigation.
Representative Matters
Bad Faith and Extra-Contractual Liability
- Represented insurers in defense of a lawsuit seeking $42 million for Y2K remediation costs
Property Insurance
- Represented insurer in $15 million claim for property damage allegedly sustained during the construction of a hotel
- Represented market of insurers in $500+ million claim for contingent business interruption and extra expense losses arising from an explosion and subsequent two-year shutdown of an oil pipeline that resulted in slowdown in operations of the insured’s refinery.
