Peter Kelly Golfman
Peter’s practice focuses on complex insurance litigation and the resolution of commercial business disputes. Prior to joining Zelle, Peter worked as a trial attorney with the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in Manhattan and the US Department of Commerce (Commerce) in Washington, DC, representing the Federal Government in Federal District Court and administrative proceedings. In 2016, Peter defended Commerce against VICE News after the media company sued for access to sensitive documents from the Bureau of Industry and Security. During his time at DHS, Peter was selected to a special trial team charged with litigating large-scale asylum fraud resulting from a 2012 FBI investigation into multiple New York law firms. Prior to working for the Government, Peter completed a clerkship with the DC Court of Appeals, Board on Professional Responsibility, where he worked to resolve attorney misconduct cases.
While in law school, Peter received academic excellence awards for the highest grades in Business Organizations, Evidence, and International Law. He was also named champion of the William H. Hastie Moot Court Competition.
