Miriam Vishio Receives Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award

November 10, 2017

Zelle LLP is pleased to announce that Miriam (Mimi) Vishio has received the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award for the outstanding work she did in the Aetna/Humana health insurers merger trial as a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division. The Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award is the Department of Justice’s second highest performance award. Vishio was recognized for her key contributions to the Antitrust Division’s trial victory blocking the proposed $37 billion merger.

Prior to joining Zelle, Vishio led conduct and merger investigations for the Antitrust Division and served as a key member of several litigation and trial teams. At the Antitrust Division, she also received two Assistant Attorney General’s Awards of Distinction for her significant contributions to the Division’s antitrust enforcement efforts relating to the Electrolux/General Electric and National CineMedia/Screenvision proposed mergers that were both ultimately abandoned during trial and on the eve of trial, respectively.

At Zelle, Vishio’s practice centers on antitrust litigation, antitrust compliance counseling, and premerger notification advice and assistance with Hart-Scott-Rodino Act filings. She has extensive litigation and trial experience, representing plaintiffs and defendants in complex antitrust and commercial litigation – including merger enforcement actions, price-fixing and monopolization cases, and licensing and contractual disputes – before federal and state courts and in international arbitrations.
